INGREDIENTS:
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 small ciabatta rolls or one small loaf, split and halved diagonally
- 1 cup strawberries, hulled and diced
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil leaves
- juice of ½ a lemon
- ¼ cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat broiler to High with rack 6" from heating element.
- Combine 2 tbsp sugar and ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon.
- Split bread and halve diagonally. Generously butter cut sides.
- Sprinkle the sugar-cinnamon mixture on the buttered sides of the bread and broil on a baking sheet until toasted (about 2-3 minutes).
- Stir sour cream, yogurt, honey, and vanilla extract together in a bowl.
- Toss diced strawberries, 2 tbsp sugar, ½ tbsp basil and lemon juice in a bowl.
- Place 2 tbsp berries with juice on each piece of bread. Dollop 1 tsp sour cream mixture on top. Add remaining basil for garnish.
